Redken Brews Outplay Texture Pomade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far of all the pomades I've tried (Admiral Red, Admiral Grey, Sheer Revival, Teddy Boy Matte & JS Sloane Heavy) this one is my favorite, hands down. Water-based is definitely the way to go for a lot of good reasons. Redkens Brews Texture Pomade sets up easily, smells great and lasts all day. Pompadours, side parts, comb overs, slick backs...you name it. If you use a lot, yes it will make your hair a bit crunchy when it dries. Later day adjustments are easy, just run a little water through your hair with your hands and comb. These is also no residue when running your hands through your hair like some other products in this space. Washout is simple and requires no special chemicals or procedures. Very glad I tried Redkens as it is my pomade now! 5/5 Stars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Redken Brews Texture Pomade on my hair after I wash it. It holds my hair without feeling, "greasy or crunchy" after my hair dries. I used to have to use a hair spray along with some sort of gel or pomade, but not with This Redkin product I'm pleased a little fingerful and massage into hair and comb. It holds up wonderfully all day. Do not use a lot or your hair will look greasy the next day just a little goes a long way on my wet hair to start. Will buy when I run out. Wonderful product when used correctly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pomade I found to be a bit congealed. It didn't pull out particularly easily and I generally ended up with more than I wanted. I expected once I got further into the tub to have less of that since often when you first get a product it's like that. Unfortunately, it was fairly difficult to get out throughout. That said, it wasn't impossible and the product did hold well. The smell was a bit fake for my taste, but it did the job.

I had high hopes for this product because it’s redken. I have a pixie cut and like to push my hair back, almost slicked but not shiny. Literally all this did was make my hair look dirty and greasy, even though I used a tiny amount. It had zero hold. It really weighed my hair down and took away all of the volume I worked so hard to put into it. I just all around hate this product. Returning it ASAP. Don’t recommend.

Once you understand the amount needed it's a great product. It keeps my hair feeling fresh with out the greasy feeling of some hair products. It does not dry out my hair like some other alcohol based gel hair products. It lasts all day and it into the next day or so. I will buy this product and do recommend it.

It has a pleasing scent and a wonderfully smooth texture, and doesn't feel too greasy or slimy in your hands or hair. It also doesn't dry out and produce those annoying little flakes throughout the day. Solid all-day hold without feeling too stiff. I've definitely restock when I run out!

The matte finish is exactly what I was looking for and had yet to find. I am just so impressed with this product. It is also easy to wash out at the end of day. My hair feels good before, during and after application. This product performs just as well as my usual pomade. The hold on this product is stronger so you're not going to end up using much. The smell is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. However, if you're looking to change your hair consistency, then I'd look for something else.

I dont get that nasty greasy feel in my hair throughout the day, that I get with some other brands. When you rub it in between your fingers, it has a nice consistency that doesn't glob up in your hands or hair. Has a real nice soft smooth feeling.

Cool man when I rubbed it in my palm an added it to my hair..my hair stuck right to my head..never came out of place...I keep buying the off brands...Now I'm going to stick with Redken a man's pomade has a nice scent an thick to the touch,able to stay in place my hair didn't move

It went on smooth in my hair and gave me the look I was going for. The Pomade wasn't as soft as others I have used, but it worked great on my hair. I would definitely recommend.

I get a lot more pomade for the cost and the hold is so much better. I can reshape my hair as the situation warrants and my hair never looks wet/oily.

This product is advertised as "maximum control, matte finish," but it is neither. It caused my hair to be shiny (almost appeared oily) and it lost its hold after 1 hour. I've always been skeptical of this line of products due to its low quality, and this product only reaffirmed my skepticism.

Though it is pricey, you do get a decent amount of product. It is easy to emulsify between hands. However it is supposed to be maximum control with a matte finish, but I find that it isn't much of those things. It also makes my hair feel dirty and weighed down.

Got a box from wife for christmas. My hair is very thin and when gets greasy it's usually 3 days. With this pomade my hair is greasy right afer use. Can imagine a greek hero taming his thick curls that look great after this stuff, but not for my hair.

I love this product for my son's hair. In the early morning when I am styling his hair, I rest in the fact I don't have to wet his hair! Especially in the cold mornings. I love that this product isn't damaging to hair so I can use this on my children.

I've been using this for 10 years now. It replaced a similar Redken product that i used to use but I can't remember the name. I have curly hair. It helps tame it. It's not too heavy or greasy. And doesn't make my hair shine unless I apply it wet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that the scent is very mild. This pomade is a bit too waxy rather than pomade like for how I style my hair. It doesn't work for me but seems like a decent product. I think I will not purchase this again and stick to my regular pomade.

The perfect X factor in this product. Great hold for my back slick hair. Don´t be afraid to "overuse" when applying in the hair. You can also refresh the hairstyle with a dash of water in the palms in the middle of the day, it really works.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pomade had a strong hold that lasted 12+ hours. I used this product in cold, dry climates and hot and humid conditions. No matter the climate the product held without making me look oily. I was very satisfied with this product.

Used this to get us through Coachella! It held all of our hairs exactly where they were intended. I wish it was just a little more thick or dense and didn’t melt so easily. It worked great for the weekend and it smells wonderful.
