ROOT LIFTER: ALL-DAY FULL BODY & VOLUME SPRAY FOAM

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's called root lifter, but I didn't see the lift. I tried using this a few different ways, but ultimately ended up acting as a medium-hold mousse. I did have to use quite a bit to achieve a hold.

I have wavy to curly hair so I’m always on the look out for good product that will do the job I need it to. I live in the south where the humidity is high and the frizz is real! I personally like how this product works on my hair. It keeps the frizz away and adds to my curls. It also goes above and beyond as far as staying power goes. The one thing I absolutely hate about it, and it has nothing to do with the actual product, is the way it comes out of the can. It sprays out in a stream like silly string does. It’s not an even spray but a stream. I have very long hair and lots of it so that’s very annoying to me. Other than that, perfect

However, I'm intrigued by the idea of using it on dry hair as a styling option, as it might provide the volume without the drying effect. Since I have naturally wavy hair and prefer a smoother texture, I'll continue to search for products that offer both volume and smoothness. Overall, while this product may work for some hair types, those seeking smoothness might want to explore other options. #FreeProduct

I have been using Guts 10 for the past 15 years or longer. I have very fine thin hair and have always been so happy with this product. However, I purchased several new bottles a few weeks ago and I am so unhappy with the results. I could tell it was very foamy coming out the first time using it and then noticed the ingredients had changed. My hair is horribly fly away after using it and just doesn’t have much body either. I am very unhappy with it and will be looking for a new product soon unless they change it back to old Guts. It was so great that I really miss it a lot. I have tried other products over the years but always found Guts to be the best.

I was worried this would make my hair filmy or oily, but it didn't at all. I applied it after towel drying right before blow drying on low. I concentrated on my roots, but I did pull some out to the ends too. I love the result. My hair hold its volume longer than normal, but my favorite part was that it gave my hair some control too. I would definitely add this as part of my blow drying routine.

I am a cosmetologist and just recently found this product. It is a true miracle mousse. After trying numerous products to give my fine straight hair a volume boost, this product has surpassed all my expectations - it is literally PERFECT. It does exactly what it says it does. It volumizes at the roots and all over while keeping the hair smooth and shiny. It held my hair all night and even after I brushed it out!! It looked like my hair grew this way - and I naturally have very fine, flat straight hair!!! I am so excited I found this product and I would recommend it to everyone. Hope they never discontinue this product!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I sprayed this on the roots of my damp, freshly washed hair and rubbed it into the roots with my fingers and let it air dry for awhile before I finished it off with the blow dryer. My first impression was that it smelled amazing and I didn't have any stickiness in my hair which is a huge plus for me! I curled my hair after drying it and my curls were so much more voluminous than normal and have held way longer than usual, too. This product gave me awesome lift at the root, without having to tease my hair!

Voluminous hair that remained soft and manageable throughout the day, even in high humidity! The only issue I had was with the aerosol application that sent a stream resembling a torpedo across my bathroom, making it look like a winter morning. I've always used non-aerosol, so it definitely took some getting used to. Other than that, I really enjoyed this mousse and the volume it added.

I used this on my wet hair, right after applying my curl cream. I went in with my diffuser and I definitely saw a difference in how my curls dried and held up. The only thing is that it did not last all day for me. Maybe I'll go in again and try using a little more product next time to see how it holds! This is a product I would put on a "yes" list if I were on the hunt for a good volumizing spray. I also love that it's foam, it's just super satisfying. I would recommend this to others.

You do not have to get your hands all sticky with this product, all you have to do is point and spray. Secondly, I have always had flat hair and nothing really ever helps give it volume...EXCEPT for this stuff! I finally had some bounce to my roots! AND is last ALL day long. Its like a spray mousse / hairspray. Also, you get the bang for your buck. The bottle is huge and filled good, It will last a long time. I love it!

I'm always looking for volumizing products because I have fine hair that tends to go flat a few hours later, even with product applied. I noticed that this worked better for me on day old hair instead of freshly washed. I'm used to spraying mousse in my hand and applying that way so it took a little getting used to with the spray. Not an every day product for me because I don't always want the feel of it but it's great for when I do my hair. Helps lifts my roots when I curl my hair, which is what I'm mainly looking for.

(Spray it right on your wet hair and that's it!) This not only added volume to my hair but it really helped to control my massively frizzy hair! I have fine, wavy to straight hair and this worked really good for me! I love how my Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam smells too! Their products have worked really good for me and I will keep using them on my hair.

This stuff deserves 20 stars! My hair tends to be bigger at the bottom and limp at the roots. So while I am doing things to try to smooth and flatten the bottom of it, I need to amp up the roots. This stuff is perfect! I spray it onto my roots in sections and rub in with the pads and my fingers. Then I blow it dry with my head turned upside down. Afterword, sometimes I will tease it, but I don’t really have to. This gets you the volume that you are looking for without the knots. It’s perfect and doesn’t make my roots look greasy or dirty. Love it! This is one of my favorite products that I’ve used for years!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a moose that is supposed to give your hair volume. It did exactly that! I applied it to my damp hair and as i was doing a blowout I could see how big and fuller my hair looked. I will say that there is some kind of hold because the brush was catching on some dry areas where previously sprayed. I will say that the only negative thing is how it is applied. It's a moose that sprays from a noozle, however the noozle gets clogged after a single use. The directions say to spray at the roots but it's a little hard to spray. Would be easier in a traditional moose bottle. Thanks Redken for my free sample!

I have thick curly hair that needs to be controlled and this product did. Just that ! My hair wasn't sticky and it didn't feel like I had profit in there. The foam spread nicely and gave my hair volume without crunchiness! I recommend this to everyone!

My hair is balding and thinning, so I could definitely benefit from some volume. I tried the volume spray foam one day and felt like my head was sticky & wet all day. I used a very tiny amount but even that made my hair feel slick, not volumized, like I'd hope. Granted, my hair isn't exactly the ideal type to be using these kind of products. I'm also not accustomed to using many styling products, perhaps I applied it incorrectly. I did like the fragrance of the spray. I would recommend to a friend with the correct hair type.

It gives my hair so much volume and an oomph factor! I didn't enjoy wearing my hair down before this product but this product gave me the confidence to wear my hair down and look good and feel good while doing so! I tried it out on half of her head first to be sure we could see if there was a noticeable difference. There was for sure. I wish she would've given me permission to post her photo. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use this after a shower, but it also works just as great with wetting your hair in the sink etc. I use this by applying it at the roots and combing it through, then I let air dry a bit and then blow dry after/style it. I have pretty thin hair so this was a hugeee help for me. It added significant volume and left my hair super soft as well. Definitely recommend.

I have incredibly fine hair and I'm always looking for something to give me extra volume without leaving my hair gritty or sticky. Because my hair has gotten so long, the biggest area I struggle to get volume is the roots of the hair (I don't like back combing because I don't want to break my already fine hair). This product (as long as I don't use too much!) gives me decent volume without the grit or stickiness. Does it give me huge, Texas hair that I strive for? No. But then I can't be bothered to spend 30 minutes drying it with a round brush. If I did, I'm sure that would help the volume.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was my first time trying this volume spray and I really don't know how my hair survived without it. I have fine curly hair and sometimes I want some lift and lots of volume and the Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam does just that. I apply some of the volume spray foam to the root of my hair while it's still damp. Then I style my hair as usual. Once it dries completely, my hair has so much volume. The volume spray foam doesn't weigh down my hair at all. It feels very light and gives my hair lots of movement. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. It never left my hair with any sticky residue nor did it have any crunchiness. My hair had body, fullness and lots of volume. It also tamed my frizzness and gave me more of a smoother look and feel. This is such amazing product! I've been recommending this volume spray foam ever since I've been able to try it. Definitely try this if you want to give your hair the volume it deserves. I'm definitely going to purchase this product again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There's something about Redken's Root Lifter Volumizing Spray Foam that seems very old school and not like a new product- more like a hair mousse or something my mom would've used in the 80's. I'm always looking for more volume, and this does work, but I wish my hair was softer, not so stiff after use.

I have used this product for a very long time, with great results. However, I have purchased 2 new cans from different stores and the product from both of them is watery, not foam! I have shaken them a lot and nothing changes. Did you change the formula or are these both defective cans?

It was super easy to use and the product will last a while because you don't need to use a lot at one time. It has a pleasant smell and doesn't leave my hands feeling sticky or gross.

Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam is one of my top #hair products. Thick and foamy, it absorbs quickly. My hair is #thin and I get #bighair with this one. The only thing is there's a light chem smell; doesn't overpower tho. This girl is #budgetfriendly at 10.58 oz! Get it babes!

If you need a root booster for everyday use or for special occasions, this does the job well. However, it did leave my roots feeling a bit sticky so don't go running your fingers through your hair. I think it's designed to grip and stay put, making it especially great for updos. The product was a bit heavy for my fine blonde hair, and it made my hair appear a bit darker (almost wet or greasy looking) at the roots, making this not a great product for me for everyday use. I don't think this would be noticeable if your hair is dark. And wouldn't be noticeable in an updo where there are curls and hair clips and things to draw your eye away from the scalp.

Once I let my hair air dry, I styled as usual and was pleased with the fullness after using this product. The fragrance was very pleasant as well with it being light but not too strong.
