[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm the kind of guy that likes a strong hold on my hair style for all day hold. Once it's styled in the morning I don't want it changed until I get back home and get ready for bed. This particular gel gives me okay hold but can't give me the rock hard hold I like to hold up to windy days and a midday gym visit before going back to work. I have my other gels which are still my go to product. I am glad I got to try this out as I was unaware of the product until this point. I do love the scent of this gel though as it has a nice masculine appeal and swagger to it. I know my spouse loves the scent in close encounters so that's a big win for this gel. Overall I think it's a good product for a hold level of 7 out of 10 but that's just my opinion. It's a good product and I would consider buying more and pairing it with another go to hair product for better hold.

I have medium hair length and stuggle finding a good gel that can hold through the day. My current job is heavy duty so I'm always active and my hair never seems to hold through the day. With Redken Brews Holding Gel I have not had that problem, from morning to night my hair is excatly how I styled it. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new gel to try. You won't be disappointed with this product. Another great thing about this gel is that it smells great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not aware of Redken Brews Holding Gel (Grip Tight) before receiving this sample to review.
When opening the tube for the first time, I was greeted with a pleasant smell. To me it seemed like subtle sandalwood and maybe a hint of citronella.
Squeezing it into my palm, it was not as thick as I was expecting which is a good thing.
Running it through my slightly damp hair, the gel immediately gripped to it.
I would buy Redken Brews Holding Gel (Grip Tight) because although it grips tight and lasts the entire day, it doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a helmet or plaster on my head like other super grip gels do.
I would recommend the Redken Brews Holding Gel (Grip Tight) to others because of the pleasant scent, the light weight and the all-day grip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product in exchange for a review. I have short to medium length, (very) thick hair. I begin by showering, and after showering, re-wet my hair to keep it damp. I run the product through my hair and begin to brush and blow-dry. This gel works great, because it gives a strong hold throughout the day, while maintaining a clean and healthy hairstyle. Plus, it has a clean smell to it, as well! I love that.
I have heard of Redken, not of this specific line, but have used their products in the past. This gel is great, because it really does give salon-style results after styling! I would assume it works well with any kind of hair - it's that good.
Overall, I would possibly buy it again, if I needed a dependable haircare product. Thank you, Redken!

I like the scent, it smells fresh and clean, without being too strong. I like that this gel is easy to apply and it doesn't take much to make my hair look great What I like best is that this product doesn't get flaky or make my hair feel unnatural and stiff, like most other hair gels do! I definitely recommend this product. My hair looks and feels amazing all day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using gel since the 80's and have tried just about every kind. So many are sticky and leave my hair feeling dry, this gel does not do either. It has a "soft" feeling in hand and when putting it on my hair it feels like it disappears, in a good way. I have very thick hair and to get a good hold that does not require me to use a large amount is hard to find. I use very little and it does not weigh down my already heavy hair but does give it long lasting hold. I received a sample in exchange for writing a review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Redken Brews (Grip Tight) Holding Gel for about 2 weeks now. First impression is the smell is amazing! Has a fresh/clean, cologne scent, but not too strong. I have thin, short, straight hair and it works well. I would prefer a little firmer hold then this medium hold product, personally. The gel is easy to apply and it doesn't take much to make my hair look great. The gel can be applied to wet or dry hair and doesn't get flaky or make my hair feel unnatural and stiff. I have also used this product on my boys hair and he has a more active daily lifestyle. By the end of the day, the hold is gone. He has longer hair. If you are looking for a medium hold gel, I would definitely recommend this product.

I was looking forward to using a good name brand product, but this gel leaves my hair feeling sticky and it doesn't seem to dry all the way. I appreciate the opportunity to try this product, but it's just okay. I will use it if I run out of my cheap stuff. My wife loves Redken products, but this one wasn't a hit for the guys.
It does, however, have a good cologne scent.

I really like the scent, which is not the reason to. It it but definitely a nice to have!
I like that the hold in my hair is firm but there's not a lot of sticky residue on my hands.
I also like that the hold lasted more than the Few hours that I was out.
I followed the instructions applied it to damp hair and it held without looking like I had waxed or lacquered my hair

This product does a good job of holding hair in place and allows for sculpting hair. It is smooth and not sticky. Overall, I recommend this product for those who only use a small amount of gel. It works fast and really really holds well all day. i would highly recommend this if you want to spike fast, keep it good throughout the day and of course if you have hair that needs a strong hold. With Grip Tight in the title, you'd assume that's what you'd be getting, but that was not what I experienced. The hold was okay, but not as firm as I prefer. The scent was pleasant. I've had good luck with Redken in the past, but this one just didn't pass the test.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product both for me and my son. It's a little heavy for him as he has much thinner/finer hair than myself, but it worked great on mine. Good hold, lasted for most of the work day. Didn't make my hair feel crunchy or greasy, washed out very easily in the shower. I would most likely buy this product again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the feel of this gel but it didn't last all day. After about 4 hours, it lost its hold. My wife tried it on her hair and she experienced the same thing. By the end of the day, her curls were looser. It's not a bad gel for a few hours but if I'm trying to go to work, I don't want to reapply.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old brand of gel was discontinued after many years so I have been looking for a replacement. I tried a few and this was the best. This gel holds well but does not have that wet hard look. The gel also resets easily with a little spray of water.

It fried my hair gave me a color chemical burn. My hair has never gotten damaged from using shades eq this was my 1st time using shades eq plus bonder . My hair strand elasticity strength is weak and breaks off and coils back crunchy , it feels like gum
I used it as directed and I don’t have any medications and it felt horrible while I rinsed it with just water before I used my vegan shampoo
It’s been a horrible experience, I’ve been using non permanent hair color for a couple years now to regrow natural healthy hair. And now my entire hair strand is damaged. I contacted redken directly and the rep was rude and kept talking about herself and how she’s a chemist and she burns her hair off and blah blah blah. Very rude I’m literally in shock .

My stylist uses this on my hair when I get my balayage lightening. Rather than paying 80.00 for a toner application only between full services, I decided to try it at home. Mixed it exactly as was described using 2 bonder colors (9V and 10GRo), 000 crystal clear, and the processing solution. Applied to clean, dry hair and left it on for 20 minutes. May hair looks like I just left the salon. It is shiny, soft and the color is exactly what I was looking for. I realize doing a home hair color job is not always recommended and can be done incorrectly, but I followed all the directions and it came out perfect.

I used the product a week ago. It made my hair extremely, dry, fizzy and stiff -- more like straw than hair. I to correct the situation by using deep conditioner, mask, your 25 Benefits One United in an attempt to reverse the damage/condition -- no improvement. I couldn't be more upset, worried, unhappy and at loss as to how to restore my hair to its previous state..

I used the shades eq gloss and the gel product with it and my hair is HORRIBLE now. The color is cute but my gorgeous soft long hair is freaking straw now. I can’t even wear it down it’s so staticky. Redken ruined my hair
