I have some of the THICKEST and LONGEST hair stylist have ever seen! Every time I get my hair done they have a workout in store with how much hair I have. So when I wash my hair it will stay damp for nearly 2 days if I don’t blow dry, and blow drying takes a good hour for me.... until I discovered this! I feel like my blow dry time is decreased dramatically and this is basically a thermal protector and primer to style my hair all in one. It also gets my crazy curly frizzy hair under control. Good bye frizzies and fly always! The only thing I don’t love is the smell. I hate the scent. But this stuff works, so I keep using it and my hair appreciates it!

This product is supposed to protect from heat speed up drying. First of all, it smells terrible. Secondly, it's probably fine for heat protection(not really a claim I could measure in the time I've been using it-if ever) Finally, it's claims to speed up your blow-out, I didn't notice any difference. My hair looked fine- not worse or better immediately after blow drying and styling. But, with just the smallest amount of product used,it makes my hair a greasy mess by the end of the day. If a product causes you to need to wash your hair more often, it certainly shouldn't be used in a system to extend your blow out. And extra washing is not protecting your hair.

J'aime beaucoup les produits Redken, malheureusement ce produit je ne le recommanderai a personne .
Mes cheveux sont collées ensemble , même après un lavage j'ai l'impression que j'ai vidé une canette de hairspray dans mes cheveux.
De plus , ma chambre de bain a un dépôt noir entièrement partout . Le bain , la toilette et les rebors de fenêtre ...Nettoyer tout le noir poudré n'étais pas une tâche facile.
Finalement , le produit ne fonctionne pas dutout malgré tout . Mon cheveux avait une apparence grasse et mêlé.

This is my first review of a hair product...I was so impressed that I had to review it! I have thin, hard-to-manage ‘combination’ hair...I need to wash it every day, but the ends get very dry. I used this product after washing with All Soft shampoo and conditioner. I shook well, then spritzed 5 times on my medium-length hair. I could see results as soon as I started blow-drying with a round brush...my hair was smooth, full, and, dare I say, bouncy! (which is unheard of for me!). I didn’t even need to touch up with a flat iron after, because my hair was so smooth and silky. I rarely introduce new products into my routine because of my challenging hair type, but this is a new must-have!

Overall good primer/heat protectant. Has a strong fragrance, not a bad smell just strong as most Redken hair products do but thankfully it doesn’t stick around long. Doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it look oily. Keeps my hair soft. Cuts my drying time in half which I love! My hair is past my butt so drying usually takes forever.

For the heavy duty hair styling days when two or even three styling tools are going to be used, I whip out this bad boy. When I first used it I thought it was doing nothing but helping to steam my hair because I would see like a cloud of steam or product come up off the hair, whatever it was, I realized that my hair wasn’t coming out damaged so I overlooked it. This stuff also makes my hair soft. I’m not going to take off for this because it’s obviously important to preserving the quality of hair but this contains some oils that leave a sheen and what that translates into for me is that my hair is greasy looking in two days so I have to wash more often. That being said I will still use it because it works.

When my stylist said that they had a new product in that would cut drying time I was skeptical. I have extremely thick hair that typically takes 45 minutes to blow dry/ flat iron, which is a pain and why I have relied on dry shampoos for years as I try to make my style last 2-3 days (I have not tried the pillow proof line dry shampoo yet as for cost reasons I can't currently afford both products). As my stylist has the same hairdryer/flat iron as I use at home I had her time how long it took to style my hair. It took less than 25 minutes. That is unheard of for my hair, so needless to say I bought a bottle and will be using it religiously.
If you have thick hair that takes forever to style this product is 100% essential.

I have purchased this heat protector a few times now because it's that good! I have medium length hair and I plan on growing it out so I'm cutting my hair less often. This stuff protects my hair from spit end and heat damage, its seriously a God sent spray. I feel like it does improve the dry time on your hair a little bit. I prefer to air dry my hair and it leaves my hair feeling lightweight with added volume. I personally love the natural look... I did notice that it leaves a slight scent behind but it really doesnt bother me. I highly recommend!

My hair stylist used this on my hair after I told him that my hair was drying out. He said it would reduce drying time and protect my hair from the heat of the blow dryer. I bought a bottle and disaster. I believe that I used it the same way that my stylist did. I shampooed three times this morning before work, went in greasy looking. Came home tonight and shampooed twice with Redken clarifying shampoo and I simply cannot get the product out of my hair. My hair is sticky and greasy looking. On the bright side - yes, it reduced drying time.

Saw the previous review from MrsFish and just wanted to state that my stylist shared with me the importance of using this product properly. First off she said you have to shake it up before use; secondly, make sure you put it on first before any other product. Remember, its a primer, just like the primer we use on our faces before makeup application. Don't use too much, a little goes a long way. A few spritz's does the trick. I love it! Makes my hair soft and full of volume and looks great for three days! Hope this helps!

I absolutely love the Redken Pillow Proof spray. When you use it your hair will take a lot less time to blow dry and you don’t have to worry about the heat damaging your hair. It’s hard to describe the scent, I like it, but I could see others not being a huge fan. It’s not clear if you have to reapply to your hair after drying if you straighten your hair, but I typically will use a different product when straightening. It also has oil in it so it keeps your hair nice and shiny, just make sure you shake it before using.

I love using this before I blow dry my hair. Redken is one of my favorite hair brands and has been for 18 years!! I shake this up really good and spray my hair and it doesn’t leave a residue behind. There really is no scent either which is good. My hair is not as poofy but it doesn’t kill the volume either. It’s my favorite heat protectant because I know it’s working without knowing it’s there. That’s exactly what it should do. I highly recommend it and my hair is down to the bottom of my bottom. That’s a lot of hair!

Absolutely love this product for heat protection I have very very thick hair which is really hard for it to get completely dry really fast so I have to blow dry my hair and with this it leaves my hair smelling so good and it takes me about half the time it would without the product I also love using it for curling my hair and straighten my hair although I will say I do not straighten or curl my hair too often so it's a very great product of one downfall is the price it is so expensive but it is worth it in my opinion.

Disappointing. I haven't noticed any decrease in blow-drying time; honestly, I haven't noticed any changes using this product at all. Which is a bit rough considering I paid over $25 for less than 6 oz. of it. The product smells like cough syrup (not just when you spray it; your hair will continue to smell like that when it is dry); it often makes my hair feel filmy; and it doesn't extend my style for any amount of time/it doesn't keep my hair looking fresh or shiny after sleeping (and why else would they call it 'pillow proof'?). My hair is decently soft/smooth after blow drying (for 40 mins) and I'm hoping that at least the "heat protection" claim is legit and it's gradually strengthening my hair, but I'm sure I can find a less expensive product that can do those things.

This product was introduced to me by my hair stylist. I was worried I wouldn’t get the same effect at home, but I definitely did! This cut my drying time in half! I just wait until my hair has air dried a little so it’s not soaking wet, mist this all over but more so avoiding coating my scalp, and it leaves my hair so soft and voluminous! I feel like I can go longer without washes. It’s a little pricey but I definitely think it’s work it! Love the smell too. Almost like a daily trip to the salon lol

This is by far my favorite dry shampoo, and I've tried a lot. Although I have tried some that have smelled better (though this by no means smells bad), and obviously the price is a little steeper, this makes your hair feel amazing. I can literally go five days without washing my hair, if I use this on the second day...only having to use it once! It absorbs all of the oil at my roots and gives me incredible volume, without leaving residue behind. So my hair really does feel like I just washed it!

As a hairstylist this is a must have. For everyone who blow dries your hair, you NEED this product in your life. One, it’s a heat protectant. So you can keep your gorgeous locks from heat damage. Two, it speed up the dry time. I have enough hair on my head for 10 people. Without this, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour for a complete dry. I have short hair. It is ridiculous. However, with this product. I am done and styled in 20 minutes. 10/10 would recommend everyone use this product.

Love this product on myself as well as my guests. Was a little skeptical about whether it really would cut blow dry time, but noticed a significant difference while using this product. Especially those quests who have tons of hair. Recommend it to everyone.
It works great for every hair type. And why wouldn't someone use something that will protect hair from heat, amplify the effectiveness of others products applied to hair, and will also make hair stronger and prevent breakage.

I love how quickly this product makes my hair dry when I'm using the blow dryer. I am not a huge fan of blow drying my hair but this makes it go a lot quicker. It also doubles as a heat protectant so I love that. My only complaint about this product is the smell. I have to spray it all over and then use a better smelling hair product on top of it. I almost couldn't use it at first because of the smell, but I'm glad I found a way around it because this product is worth it.

I went to a Redken salon yesterday for a cut and style and the hairstylist used this on my hair, claiming it makes hair soft and protects it. When she was done styling my hair, my hair felt gunky but I thought it was from the hairspray she used to set my style. I bought a bottle of this and used it today. My curling brush got stuck in my hair, which never happens. This stuff gunked up my hair so badly. My hair is not soft, either. I'll be taking it back.

My Hair Type - Straight, Fine
This stuff is ok. It's not worth $15.00. I haven't noticed any difference in the time it takes to dry my hair, which was its major selling point with me. It does help keep knots from forming while I'm blow-drying, but there are many other, less expensive products that do the same. It tends to make my straight, flat hair so soft that I need to add a lot hairspray for it to hold any style or have any volume.

I know this is a lot of peoples’ favorite heat protectant so it is worth a shot if you’re interested. They also make a travel friendly version so you can try that before you buy this full size. I found that it was lightweight and did not make my hair oily as long as I shook the product before spraying it. The reason why Im giving it 3 stars is because I couldn’t stand the smell. I ended up returning it purely due to the smell.

This product is exactly how it appears to be. Heat protectant, speedy blow dry time.
Pay attention to the directions. Look at the separation of liquid. You must shake this product first before use, the do not spray all over like a lamp shade; you must tilt your head, dispursing the product under and over. All the while using it sparingly. As with all Redken Professional Products "less is more" and add additional when needed.

This smells so amazing it’s like hair perfume but not crazy strong. But more importantly it works wonders! Pillow proof primer preps your hair from heat and it also smooths fly aways as well. It’s not too heavy and it definitely doesn’t make hair oily. I actually sometimes spray a little into the palms of my hands and add to dry hair just to smooth down any out of place hairs. It also gives your hair the most amazing shine!

This spray is AMAZING! You have to shake before using and I spray in after my leave In Conditioner and before all my blow dry products and I get easily a week out of my blow dry! Sometimes if I have a funny kink from being in a bun the day before and I mist this everywhere and re- blow dry instead of getting my hair wet again! I also get so so so much body when I use this 10/10 everyone should be using this!

I used this on my hair after a leave in conditioner and about 1/2 hour after I was out of the shower....just sprayed a little of it all over.....My normally fly away, frizzy, fine, highlighted hair was smooth and full of volume....style just fell into place with a brush and a blow dryer...did so much more than advertised OR expected...will be buying the full size! Did not have to flat iron my hair....great!

I love Redken products and they’ve done such a great job improving my hair quality. I recently started using Pillow Proof Blow Dry spray a few months ago. I absolutely love it as a primer.
My only piece of feedback for the product team is that the smell is a little too strong. It kind of smells too much like perfume and it could be toned down a little. It would get a solid 5 stars otherwise from me!!

This was recommended to me by my stylist and it is a fantastic product! I have a lot of hair and it is thick. I blow dry it straight about 2 to 3 times a week. This spray has cut down my blow dry time tremendously! I have seen a huge difference in the strength of my hair and even the frizz from the heat on my hair since using this product. I just ran out of it and cannot wait to go get another one!

Listen up humans (like me) who love their heat styling products. Blow dryers/ flat irons/ curling irons etc....Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer Heat Protection Spray is a MUST USE! I have the frizziest hair and this is the first product I’ve found that helps protect my hair while taking a little heat to tame its craziness. A little pricier than some others but worth the cost!

Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer Heat Protection Spray This primer is a LIFE saver. I use it basically on every blowout, but especially for my shampoo sets. My clients make their set last a whole week. Their style always holds so well. The pillow proof primer does have a light fragrance to it. You need to shake the bottle before use. It can be oily on very fine hair though.

I used this for the first time after my hair stylist did. I have very thick, curly hair. It typically takes me about 45 minutes to blow dry my hair. With this product it took me about 20 minutes. My hair is still soft and my ends don't look frazzled. I used other products in conjunction with this, so I won't give it 5 stars. I also did not care for the smell it was very perfumed.

I purchased this product in an attempt to find a replacement for the SatinWear 02 that I can no longer get, and overall I am sad with the results that I'm getting with my hair! I have fine hair (and a lot of it), and when I first used it I sprayed this on my hair at both the roots and the ends. Unfortunately I noticed right away that spraying it on my ends made it sticky for my hair straightener to run through, and I ended up with horizontal lines at the tips of my hair from where my straightener sticks. I also have noticed that after about a week of using this, I haven't been able to get my shampoo to bubble, even when using two pumps of my shampoo (which I have never had an issue with). Immediately after a day of not using this, my shampoo works just as great as it always has (Redken Ever Soft - LOVE it), so I know this spray is the culprit. What a bummer, I wish that I could purchase SatinWear 02 again!

I have fine hair and wash every other day. I prefer to wash it in the mornings. This spray allows me to sleep in 10-15 minutes longer on those days. My hair is fine so it dries fairly quick on it's own, but if I use this it's dry in about 5 minutes with a blow dryer. It leaves my hair soft and full. It doesn't weigh it down at all either. It's a must have product for me!

I got this Redken Pillow Proof spray for free from Ulta str purchasing 2 other Redken hair products. The pros of this spray is that it definitely cuts back on blow drying time, it smells amazing, and it helps cut back on frizz. The cons of this for me are that it sometimes makes my hair look and feels a little greasy if I use too much or if I put it too close to my roots.

I absolutely LOVE this product. It was used on my hair once at a salon and I fell in love with the results on my hair. Basically this product is used as a protectant against heat of any sort and allows for faster blow drying time. I have shed minutes off of my hair styling routine using this product and will not use any heat tool without applying it first. Love love love!

This definitely cut down on my dry time! I would say in about half! Really neat if you can easily spend an hour drying your hair if you haven’t purchased other items like the aquis towel to help out. I have bought this several times already, and enjoy using it in winter time when being wet and cold is not enjoyable. Price is worth it for these points alone for me.

It fried my hair gave me a color chemical burn. My hair has never gotten damaged from using shades eq this was my 1st time using shades eq plus bonder . My hair strand elasticity strength is weak and breaks off and coils back crunchy , it feels like gum
I used it as directed and I don’t have any medications and it felt horrible while I rinsed it with just water before I used my vegan shampoo
It’s been a horrible experience, I’ve been using non permanent hair color for a couple years now to regrow natural healthy hair. And now my entire hair strand is damaged. I contacted redken directly and the rep was rude and kept talking about herself and how she’s a chemist and she burns her hair off and blah blah blah. Very rude I’m literally in shock .

My stylist uses this on my hair when I get my balayage lightening. Rather than paying 80.00 for a toner application only between full services, I decided to try it at home. Mixed it exactly as was described using 2 bonder colors (9V and 10GRo), 000 crystal clear, and the processing solution. Applied to clean, dry hair and left it on for 20 minutes. May hair looks like I just left the salon. It is shiny, soft and the color is exactly what I was looking for. I realize doing a home hair color job is not always recommended and can be done incorrectly, but I followed all the directions and it came out perfect.

DREADFUL PRODUCT!!

I used the product a week ago. It made my hair extremely, dry, fizzy and stiff -- more like straw than hair. I to correct the situation by using deep conditioner, mask, your 25 Benefits One United in an attempt to reverse the damage/condition -- no improvement. I couldn't be more upset, worried, unhappy and at loss as to how to restore my hair to its previous state..
No, I do not recommend this product.

Crap product

I used the shades eq gloss and the gel product with it and my hair is HORRIBLE now. The color is cute but my gorgeous soft long hair is freaking straw now. I can’t even wear it down it’s so staticky. Redken ruined my hair
