Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray

I was not expecting much because usually my hair is thin. I sprayed and distributed it on my hair and scrunch dried it and boy did it do a great job. No more "oh honey look at those hairless spots " from the husband! lol. gah!!! anyway now he doesn't say that to me. He says "honey, you look gorgeous!"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really noticed a difference when using this. It did add good amount of volume to my hair and made it look nice and thick. I don't recommend spraying directly onto hair like it specifies to, I sprayed into my hand and then applied into my hair. It shoots directly out in a straight line and not a nice even spray so it gets pretty messy spraying directly into hair. Also, it does add a slightly greasy texture to your hair after drying but I personally like to "dirty up" my hair because I think it styles better that way and that's how you get the good volume! Overall, it's a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a sample and was pretty thrilled. Little did I know, I would quickly become disappointed. The first thing is the spray vavle. You can change how the spray comes out, so instead of spraying & covering a large area of hair, it focuses on a specific area by coming out in a single, rapid stream. I sprayed it on my roots and overall length of my hair, which is down to the middle of my back. While very fine, I have a lot of hair. I use a round brush on my bangs & a "dry" brush on my length. Both brushes got stuck, as if I had put hair spray on my hair. After blowing drying, I noticed no considerable difference in my hair texture. That is until the second day. As well as having fine hair, I tend to have oily hair. The second day, my hair still looked good. Better than if I had used dry shampoo. Would only recommend if they changed the spray face to allow for an allover spray. Maybe then it would work a bit better for those of us with limp, fine hair. Other than that, save your money.

It's hard to spray on your hair since it sprays in a straight line and not like a mist to cover more area. I've been spraying it on my hand and applying it to my hair that way. It adds a bit a volume.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For starters, I love the look of the bottle. The iridescent label and bold letting made me anxious to try this! My first impression using this product however was disappointing. It took a few spritzes to get it going which is normal but still didn't spray great once it did. Unfortunately, this sprays in a straight harsh stream instead of a mist. This results in a very uneven application. Product lands on head in concentrated spots. The result from blow drying is great however! Hair is full and thick and has a healthy shine. I really do love the outcome of this product despite how some areas of my head have more of the product on it that others and I can feel it when I run my fingers through. Improve the way this sprays and it will be a home run!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this spray, but the results just didn't hold for me. Now, to be fair, I have EXTREMELY fine and thin hair, but a lot of it. I can curl it and use extra hold spray and the curls don't hold for more than 10 mins. And that's not an exaggeration. I want to say that this spray DID give it volume, particularly when I curled it; however, as my curls fell out, my hair just looked kind of... bad. I don't even know how to describe it. Like I said, I really really wanted to like this and for about 10 minutes my hair looked FANTASTIC. I think my hair just may not be the right type for this product to truly shine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of Redken products for a while, so I was very excited to get to try the Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray. I have fine wavy/curly hair so any bit of added volume is always wanted. I used the spray on both damp and dry hair. I liked that I could feel a little texture added to help amp up my hair without adding unnecessary crunch. I would not say that my hair was overly volumized but I did notice a difference. My only complaint is that the spray bottle was more of a stream rather than a mist and this could have been the bottle itself but I would have preferred a mist to distribute the product better.

It smells amazing, doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff or sticky and actually gives my hair some extra oomph. My only complaint is the spray nozzle on the bottle. It doesn't allow the product to mist out, it comes out like a jet stream that aggressively applies too much product in one area. I may have received a defective bottle but that is the only issue I had with the product. I did try spraying the product into my hands and applying it to my hair but I would much rather prefer a mist type spray to cover all of my hair. Other than that I would definitely recommend the product to my fellow fine haired friends.

I just use about 10 spritz of this on my damp hair before styling and I can say Hello Volume pretty much instantly. I am someone who has fine hair and this really gives it the boost it needs and I will never be without it in my hair styling routine. It leaves my hair plump and thick without feeling heavy or weighed down, which is just what I am looking for. I recommend this to everyone and will repurchase before running out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray helped me quickly add volume to my hair with a quick spray to damp locks and a good blow dry. My hair is long so sometimes feels a bit flat, and this spray certainly helped give it some quick and easy lift. One drawback for me was the way it sprayed out in a stream rather than a mist, which concentrated large amounts in one small area rather than a light, easy distribution. It also left my hair with a bit of a chalky feel. I will continue to play with it to see if I can achieve the perfect balance and distribution, but would absolutely recommend it for a quick volume boost!

It has a fantastic smell. Wasn't heavy at all and definitely improved my volume. I have 3b curly hair for reference. The results work best when when I blow dry and defuse my hair. I received this as a gift in exchange for my honest review and after trying it, I would definitely recommend to any friend looking to add more body to their hair.

I wash my hair and applied this to my damp hair at the roots and then dried my hair. It has a very pleasant smell and gave my hair extra body that I didn't have before I used this. It didn't make my hair sticky or greasy like most products do in my hair. I have fine thin hair so when I can get a little extra lift is a great feeling. Love this and will continue to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stuff is on point! My daughter has the finest hair so if I want to do anything with it, I usually have to fight. I tried this stuff on her hair and the first thing I noticed was the smell. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. It's ok. It didn't linger too long on her that I noticed anyway. I asked my husband what he thought of the scent but he simply stated that it smells like "girl stuff" (whatever that means) and that "it's nice." As for how it worked, it definitely helped with giving her some height to her ponytail, it brushed out nicely too and it held really well all day long. I have zero complaints. I will definitely be using this again and buying more.

I like to use volume/thickening sprays at my roots to keep my heavy hair from falling too flat against my scalp, especially in humid weather, and this gave me tons of volume that lasted throughout the day! The only complaint I have is that I wish the spray nozzle gave off more of a separated spray and not so much a straight shot of product, it would be easier to spray throughout my roots that way. Other than that, this worked better than most other volume products I've used and I will definitely be adding it to my routine permanently.

However lucky for me this product actually gave me a sign of hope. It gave me volume without making my hair looks stiff or dirty. Definitely worth a try if it worked for me it will work for you.

I like that it smells good and it doesn't look like I have a ton of product in my hair. The only thing I didn't like is that the "spray" is more of a stream of product. I would love if it was more like a hairspray that I could spray directly on my hair and not into my hand to make sure it goes on evenly.

Unfortunately, the bottle I got didn't work that well and I couldn't get the product to come out. I finally was able to use it for a few days. First I don't like the smell at all. I tend to use paraben/sulfate free products. I never use heat on my hair. So my hair is pretty healthy. I have naturally curly hair so I try to only use the "best" products for my hair. Well the fourth time I used it, it was fine until that night I looked and saw a shorter hair by my face. It was broken! I was very unhappy and haven't used this product since.

I have naturally curly hair and at 44 iv bee seeing slot of falling out an thinning. With this product after I shower and apply I don't feel like others can see how thin my hair really is. While it did provide some volume and texture for my hair, it also made the strands of my hair super sticky so they were hard to style and would constantly tangle. I tried less spray, more spray, blow dry, and air dry, but nothing could make it work as well as competing products. It did have a nice smell though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I did not like was that the atomizer does not work well and I can not apply it easily but otherwise it is very good the liquid smells good almost has a lemon or mint aroma I do not know how to explain this product you apply it and then With your hair dryer you dry it for more volume and wuala you get hair with more texture and volume thanks for the free product.

I love this product for giving my long fine hair some extra lift. I’ve used a ton of volume products and this is definitely in my top 5. I prefer to spray in my hands and run it though damp hair instead of spraying it directly on my hair to make sure it’s distributed evenly. It doesn’t leave your hair feeling stick and provides a ton of lift after blow drying.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this product probably works well if it's used properly, however I didn't realize before receiving it that you're supposed to blow dry your hair. I don't blow dry my hair (mostly because I'm lazy about it). I did still use it and it worked a little bit on air dried hair. I do kind of wish the dispense system was different. It has a spray lid, but the product itself is too thick to be sprayed properly, I think a soap type dispenser would have worked better. If you need some volume and blow dry your hair, I still would advise trying this, it seems like it would work and it smells nice.

At first I thought it was kind of sticky but as I lightly dried my hair it went away. Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray made my hair appear fuller and more voluminous. It didn't weigh it down, and still looked full the next day.
