Beach Spray

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product two ways. I first used it as directed on the bottle. I can't say that I liked the look on me. It looked too messy and frizzy after diffusing and not really the look I was going for. Both times I styled my hair this way it was just not for me. My hair felt a bit stiff and this is a no for me. The second way I used the Beach Spray was as a curl setting spray. I had run out of my normal product and in a pinch I sprayed the Beach Spray on, blow dried and curled my hair as I normally would. I will tell you that I was impressed with the results. My hair had body and fullness and the curls lasted 3 days with just some minor touch ups. Not what I was expecting so I was pleasantly surprised. I may actually use it this way all the time as my normal product is hard to come by and usually sold out.

I have used a lot of different brands of beach spray the last few years with lackluster results, so I was really surprised if how well this spray works. I spray this in my hair after shampooing and wait until my hair is about 2/3rds dry. My hair is naturally a loose curl, so it needs help for my curls to lock together. It doesn't leave a sticky residue in my hair and my hair is still soft until I use my hairspray. I recieved this bottle for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you Redkin and BzzAgent!

It leaves my hair smelling clean all day. I tried it when my hair was damp. I sprayed all over and just scrunched it with my hands a bit. I really didn't notice a big difference in the way my hair looked vs when I don't use it. I will have to pass on this product.

But I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it and did not get that "crunch!" Was still a little stiffer than I prefer but created great waves and they lasted! Has a great light scent. I've tried to find a product to help add some depth to my waves and this product did just that. Like most others, it does leave a texture to my hair but the smell of this product is great and does give off beach vibes.

It made my curly wavy hair sticky and frizzy, and smelled like old 1980s hairspray. I really wanted to love this, as I still mourn John Frieda's OF Beach Blonde Salt Spray.

You do have to work the product and quite well, but it isn't overly difficult to do so. It has a pleasant smell, kind of like the beach as you would expect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Redken Beach Spray is a long lasting beach spray for your natural waves. It is light weight so it won't weigh down your waves and has almost a hairspray long lasting affect. This is a bit different from other beach sprays in that it keeps your waves in place and doesn't have that salty sea feeling to your hair that others have. There is virtually no scent, which for me is a super must. I really don't like my hair products to overtake the scent of my shampoo and conditioner. If you are looking for a tousled look and have a natural wave, this product is definitely a must.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I used this several times on my daughter's long hair to see what different textures I could get with it. I tried straight and down, next day waves and curls, and ponytail. I feel like it made straight and down hair look terrible. It looked like it wasn't brushed at all. Same with the ponytail, it gave it a weird looking texture. I think it looked the best with the next day waves and curls, but even still it gave the hair weird texture. It didn't really give it a beachy wave feel, it was more of a "i've been in a windstorm" type of feel, with really messy tangly looking hair even after brushing. I think the main thing I like about this product is the smell, it smells wonderful! Also it has a long lasting scent and it is a very easy product to use. The bottle is small and easy to store as well. Only a few spritzes goes a long way. Overall I don't think this product is for me, I think I can achieve looks I desire using a different product than this one. I honestly don't know who to recommend this product to though because I can't quite figure out the target audience.

After applying the product, my hair felt really strange as well as making it extremely stiff. In addition it made my hair very dry. I did not think it would zap the life out of my hair like it did. However, it did add to the curl and lift to make it have more volume. I do not like how it makes my hair feel though. I need lots of a moisturizing product to be added to my hair in order to offset the use of the Redken product. The fragrance is overbearing and too strong when initially applying it but it does dissipate after a while. I do not think this product works well with my hair type. I have very straight hair naturally so I didn't expect this product to give me any actual waves, but it did give me some nice added texture without weighing it down. I ended up giving it to my mom to try, who has naturally wavy hair, and it worked really well for her hair type. It gave her nice waves without frizz. If your hair is already at least slightly wavy I think this spray would work well to boost your natural texture

A little bit goes a long way. Sprayed and scrunched and let it air dry. Use too much and will feel crunchy! Took a few times to figure out the correct amount for my hair. I will use on days I don't feel like blow drying/curling my hair. Pic shows hair scrunched and pulled back in a clip. Thank you Redken for the product to try! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be honest I was not very hopeful with this one, the word "spray" scared me a bit since I thought it was going to leave my hair hard and untouchable but I was so wrong, I applied it after towel drying my hair and scrunched it a bit and the first thing I noticed is that is more a mist than a spray, really light and with a soft smell, the aftermath once fully dried is soft hair but well defined, no frizz and waves/curls nice to touch. Definitely worth trying and keeping!

I have naturally curly hair (3b-3c) and always love to use a texturizing product to enhance the curls. I sprayed this beach spray on my damp hair and styled it as usual. While diffusing my hair I noticed my hair felt extremely sticky and caused more frizz than I normally have. It did enhance my curls some and also noticed my curls stayed better throughout the day. I'm not sure if this product would work better for straight or wavy hair. Although there were some pros to this product, I don't think I will continue to use it and pass it along to a friend with straight or wavy hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The beach spray is awesome! At first I over sprayed so my hair was a weird texture. It didn't get crunchy like other brands I've used. It just felt rough to brush through and didn't lay nicely. I tried it again with less spray and I loved it!! My hair is pretty straight but the spray gave me a nice wave. I sprayed it on almost dry hair, scrunched with my hand and blasted with a hair dryer. That was favorite way to use it. I did also use it for a pony tail and messy bun. It gave good texture and volume. Also used it on my niece for French braids! Overall I love it and use it often. I wish the scent was better! It doesn't smell bad but I love that beach up scent some sprays have.

I have naturally curly hair. I feel the product accented my natural curls but do not feel it gave me beachy waves. I did like the way it helped tame the frizz my hair often gets after being outside for a couple of hours. I feel overall I would buy this product but am not sure about the claim of giving beach waves.

I wrapped my medium length hair in a towel for 20 mins, brushed thru it and Sprayed the Beach Spray all over my hair, including underneath and a little at the scalp at top, hoping for a lil lift. OMG I hated how my hair felt after putting product in....but was running late and had to go. Rode to work with my window partly down and when I got to work I ran in the bathroom to see the disaster that was surly to be evident in the mirror! NOPE! My hair was beautiful! So natural. AND SUPER SOFT! I am in LOVE! ONLY downside is the feel on wet hair. Just my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product on damp hair. Then blow dry, styled it. I have a short pixie cut for reference. Redken has amazing products and I currently use multiple Redken items. However, for my hair this was a no go. It definitely gave the texture and "rough" feeling. And I was able to manipulate my hair with some ease into a style I liked. It took a bit to figure out how much to use. I think this product is better suited for hairstyles that can have the time to air dry or even better suited for longer hair. I didn't hate it, just didn't care for the "feeling" of my hair with this product in it.

It's really an effortless look and I love that about this product. I absolutely love the smell! It's not overly perfumed and it's just the right amount of scent. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the idea of this spray just not the execution. The directions are pretty straightforward and simple. You spray on either damp air and diffuse dry or air dry. I used my diffuser since I never air dry and scrunched my hair as I blow dried it. It is slightly sticky but that's not unexpected since it needs texture to make the hair wavy. This made my hair look messy, unkempt and not as smooth and refined as I would've liked. This is perhaps better if you air dry it to get the natural, beachy waves. Not a dealbreaker in general but considering the product, it would be nice if it smelled like coconut or somewhat fruity for a sensory fun in the sun experience. Again, that's just my opinion.

Over the last few years when my hair was wet, I noticed it would have a slight wave to it, but once air dried it would straighten out. I would like to keep those waves so I was interested in trying the Redken Beach Spray. It held for a bit but eventually went flat. There is a pasty touch to it when first applied to the hair and then gets stiff once dried. Even a day later hair unwashed it still would have a weird texture to it instead of smooth. This may be better to use on someone with body to their hair that can hold a wave/curl

I tried Redken Beach spray , and it is really easy to apply. I shook it, sprayed onto my damp hair , and let it air dry . I am quite pleased with the results. It made my hair exactly ss stated . It's hard to know how much you will need. The sprayer gets kind of sticky as well, making it difficult to spray the product in. Once you figure out how much you need for your hair, it creates nice soft but crispy beachy waves.

This was my first time trying a wave spray and I was a little disappointed by the results. Although it smelled great, this product left my hair feeling dry and stringy. It did give my hair body and decrease my frizz though. So it is not all a loss. I think this product would work better for someone with thicker hair. Therefore I gave it three stars because I'm sure it works, it's just not for my type of hair. I am thankful I got this product free in exchange for an honest review.

I actually spray it on my wet hair and even use it the following day on my dry hair just to give it a refresh. This Redken Beach Spray is such a wonderful product, safe, good quality and it works!

Air drying made it easy to become crunchy. Didn't leave my hair feeling overly dry next day. Light smell that isn't overwhelming. Felt instructions could have been more descriptive as far as usage recommendations.

I have very silky and sleek straight hair so I was a bit worried that this product wouldn't hold without using hair spray but I was surprised with how well the waves held. I wouldn't say this spray is good for holding any tight curls but it definitely kept my waves for a whole day. I used a triple barrel "waver" and used this spray after. I did notice that it's important to spray at least 6 inches away from the hair or else it tends to leave your hair crunchy. But when used correctly, it's perfect!
